Runs well on Win7x64.
DOES NOT run at all on Ubuntu 12.04 x64.
Returns the error: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64.
This is a fantastic product, but if I wanted to use Windows I would simply run Photoshop. The whole point of using Linux is to get alternatives, and gimphoto would be perfect... if it worked.

New to Linux, using Ubuntu 11.10 32 bit. Installed Gimp 2.6 from the software center and then downloaded Gimphoto and installed it by clicking the .deb. It won't run! Gives a cryptic message about not finding some files in -/usr/local/. I tried copying the Gimpshop folder there but cannot do it with the GUI file manager and I lack the ability to do it via terminal. Photoshop is one of my most used programs in Windows and I want to use Ubuntu as a lighter and faster OS but without a PS replacement it's no good to me. I hate the Apple philosophy of WWGYIWYG (what we give you is what you get) and Winsloth is sooo heavy so I was keen on giving Linux a try but it's too nerdy for my poor computer ability and the Gimp interface is like Aramaic for all I can understand it. Yesterday I tried to do a simple text manipulation and gave up after an hour with zero results. Back to W7!

Please continue the project! Would love to see it run smoothly on Linux, installation package is corrupted and read as bad. Close to perfect on Windows. Definitely a Photoshop alternative! (Mainly because of its layout :])

I downloaded GimPhoto 2.6 for Mac OS X and installed it on my iMac that has OS X 10.7 apparently without any trouble.
However, upon executing the app I was disappointed to see that it was an unchanged version of GIMP 2.6 - no Photoshop appearance at all. Is this the way it is supposed to work? I had previously installed GIMP 2.6, so i removed by placing in the Trash Bin, and attempted to re-install from the same download, but got the same disappointing result: NO Photoshop-like interface. What can I do next to get the benefit of the GimPhoto 2.6 UI?
THANKS FOR ALL YOU EFFORT AND GOOD WORK IN DEVELOPING GimpPhoto!!
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN PROVIDE!!

I have heard rave reviews about this program. I installed it, but it wouldn't open....I get fleeting moments where I can make out "querying plug-ins". I don't know how to rectify that.
